Organic Certification
Our vineyards (a total of 15 hectares), spread across four municipalities, are cultivated using organic and biodynamic methods. They are inspected and certified annually by Bio Inspecta (CH-BIO-006). We began the transition to organic farming in 2007, long before the organic trend took hold in the wine industry. We are proud to count ourselves among the pioneers. Together with our two partner wineries, Cave Chevalier Bayard and Cave Biber, our joint team now cultivates approximately 30 hectares of organically farmed vineyards. This makes us the region’s leading producer of organic grapes. We have a portion of our wines certified by Bio Inspecta (CH-BIO-006).
Wallis Brand
The “ ” project under the Valais brand for wine originated from an idea by our fellow winemaker Marie-Thérèse Chappaz. Our winery, together with her and other organic pioneers, believed in supporting our fellow winemakers on their journey from conventional to organic farming. This led to the formation of a loose group called “Orientation Bio.” Olivier Mounir was a member of the steering committee. The idea was not simply to make a direct switch to organic farming, but rather to initiate a transformation step by step and with care, thereby building trust in organic agriculture. To ensure this process could be properly supported, the “Marke Wallis” label was created to certify these wines. The concept reflects more of a holistic approach to sustainability than an “isolated” organic strategy. Currently, the following wines from our winery are certified: Rhin 13 étoiles, Marsanne Blanche, Cornalin Trong, and Pinot Bio Espace.
Member of the Mémoire des Vins Suisses Association
The Mémoire has set itself the goal of highlighting the often-overlooked aging potential—and thus the nobility—of high-quality Swiss wines. In this way, it aims to secure these wines a place among the world’s finest wines and to sustainably promote their visibility, reputation, and sales both domestically and abroad. The Mémoire currently brings together 59 renowned wine producers from across Switzerland and 33 well-known wine experts from Switzerland and abroad. Producer members are selected based on their significance in their wine-growing region, the quality of their wines, and their commitment to promoting high-quality Swiss wines.

Partner Organization: Pfyn-Finges Nature Park
In 2012, our winery was officially designated a partner of the Pfyn-Finges Swiss Nature Park. To qualify, we had to demonstrate characteristics such as sustainability, a high-quality product range, and excellent service. Wines made entirely from grapes grown within the park are certified with the Swiss Nature Parks label. Our certified AOC organic wines are certified park products.

Member of the Salgesch Wine Village Association
Our winery was one of the leading initiators of what was then Switzerland’s first Grand Cru concept (1988). This gave rise to an association now known as the Verein Weindorf Salgesch. Today, the association’s primary goal is to promote the wine village of Salgesch and its key players, as well as to organize events. In 2019, the association won the Swiss Wine Tourism Award.
