Humagne Rouge / AOC Valais

The name Humagne Rouge first appeared around 1900. Today we know that this variety is identical to Cornalin from the Aosta Valley. When young, this red wine is wild and sometimes sharp, but it rounds out as it matures.

"Intense on the nose with strawberry jam and lilac. Straightforward and harmonious on the palate, with the same fruity-floral aromas as on the nose. The tannins are finely polished, gentle, and well-integrated, but the ripe fruit provides body and extract. The long finish offers additional spice and an attractive, slight hint of bitterness, which lends the wine a sense of tension."
