Duett Wine Set

Two winemakers, one wine. The Duett wine was born out of a friendship with winemaker Michael Burkhart (Burkhart Winery in Weinfelden). Years ago, Olivier and Michael completed their training together to become certified Swiss winemakers. In addition to a lively exchange of professional ideas, they above all cherish their friendship. A few years ago, the two collaborated to create a white and a red wine. The wine labels feature the fingerprints of Michael Burkhart and Olivier Mounir. With a little imagination, one might think they’re the ears of the Easter Bunny.

The set includes:

• 3 bottles of Duett white (a blend of Heida from Valais and Kernling from the canton of Thurgau)
• 3 bottles of Duett Red (a blend of Gamaret from Valais and Pinot Noir from Thurgau)

Duett White:  
The Kernling grapes come from our friends at the Burkhart Winery in Weinfelden, while the Heida grapes come from our Valais production in Salgesch. This blend results in a Swiss white wine with a friendly character that symbolizes the collaboration between the north and the south. 
It has a lovely nutmeg note on the nose, along with aromas of mint and fresh grapes. On the palate, it is intensely fruity and slightly sweet, but then fresh and juicy thanks to crisp acidity. With ethereal notes and passion fruit, it has an exotic and long finish with a finely balanced body.

Duet Red: 
The Duett wine is a wonderful marriage of Pinot Noir from the canton of Thurgau by Michi Burkhart and our Valais grapes, which are aged in wood. 
On the nose, it offers toasty woody notes of coffee and roasted chestnuts, along with a hint of resin, followed by elderberry and blackberry. On the palate, it offers spicy-fruity aromas, plenty of juicy fruit, and robust, compact tannins; it is both fresh and warm, with a smooth texture and dark fruit.
